^If you can afford the monthly payments, insurance, and up-keep...then do it! My Lexus was my reward to myself for driving two Honda Civics without A/C in SC summers for 5 years! Of course after selling both Civics and the turbo components on one of them, I had a boat load of money to put down on it; but I ended up paying off other bills instead with higher interest rates. I can say I have a 5yr loan on mine and am totally happy with the whole situation because I'm driving the BEST car I've ever owned and it is MINE!

BTW, back in April '11 I purchased my '06 IS350 with 31k miles for <$21k out the door. Basically EVERY option they can come with, except the rear window shade. It took me 5-6 months to find such a good deal; so remain patient.

GL!

Hahahaha no ac my civic either Lol, yea i mean this is life I'm not gonna wait 5 years for something I can afford now, who the hell knows what's gonna happen in 5 years. And like im saying I get what he is saying but this is Lexus that will last a long time unless it's a lemon. And Yea i will have at least 5k most likely more for down payment, I did my research I'm not going into this blindly. Thanks.

Sometimes carmax delivers from other states with free of charge.

^If you truly want a good deal, you'll avoid CarMax. Just for fun, after I drove my newly purchased '06 IS350 down from NJ to SC I had CarMax tell me what they would purchase it for on the spot. They offered me $400 MORE than what I just bought it for; meaning, they were gonna mark it up at least another $2-3k from there!

I agree with GVille350. Be patient. I'm in Omaha, and it's the same story here. No 350's ANYWHERE! People are sooo scared of RWD.

I would be prepared to travel since you know exactly what you want and plan to keep the car for a while. It may take some effort but it will be worth it in the end. BTW, you can filter results pretty specifically on Auto Trader. Also, don't be afraid to ask a lot of specific questions about condition or request additional pictures before investing your time and $ traveling to see the car in person.

BTW, I know you mentioned ideally waiting a few months, but I think you could get a great deal buying RWD during winter - should something surface.

Great point - I found mine in Atlanta via cargurus.com and paid a Facebook friend $100 to go and do a "FaceTime walk around and test drive" before I went out there to get it.

Someone should start a concierge service for that... Hmmm
