Default 2007 Multiple Issues (may be related?0

I had a 2008 IS 250 AWD that I bought new and loved and as luck would have it I totaled it in early December.

I've been going through a nasty divorce so I decided to take the money from the Insurance after the accident and just buy one outright and not worry about payments.

I got a 2007 IS 250 (base) and I like the car.

It has several problems that may be related?

1.) From the drivers side, I cannot roll down any window other than the drivers (but the windows work from other doors).
2.) I cannot lock the door using the lock button on the passenger side (driver's side works fine).
3.) I cannot unlock the door using the hand sensor on the passenger side door (but the driver's side works fine).
4.) Passenger side headlight only works intermittently even though it was just replaced by the dealer.

Could these problems somehow related to like maybe an electrical wiring issue or something?

For 1), you probably need to re-initialize your windows because the battery was disconnected. It's in the manual: go to the individual windows and open them half way, then fully close them and hold the switch for about 1 second -- you'll feel a click.

2) Make sure you don't have the "child lock" button depressed on the master switch on your door panel.
3) Might be something that can be changed by Lexus via a TechStream device; this might have to do with the personal settings on the vehicle
4) HIDs or Halogen? If HIDs, the ballast is probably bad.

1) It was said above, go to every window and down/up and hold it! it should work
2) Also said above, make sure child lock is not on
3) Make sure you actually HAVE that feature on the car if its a BASE model. Base models may have not come with that option. If it did, it could have been turned off by previous owner. If you dont have nav then you have to go to lexus dealer to change that option.
4) HID= bad ballast. If its halogen, then you may have a relay issue

All 2Gen IS's come with the Smart Key, and front driver and passenger door handles that open when you grab the back of them.

Are there child locks in the front pass? I thought that was only for the rear doors?

2) You mean the valet lockout in the glove compartment? That would make the trunk not open either.

3) I think you might be confusing the Lexus Personalized Settings for grabbing the driver's door--unlock only the driver door or unlock all 4 doors. There is no LPS for whether the doors unlock if you use the front passenger handle.

There is also a switch on the door jamb on the rear doors that disables the rear doors' internal opening mechanism. This is the Child Proof Locks feature.
