Default Headlight stopped working

I am new to this forum and I just bought my wife a 09 IS250 with OEM HIDs. I have had a lot of moisture in the passenger headlight since I got it (2 weeks ago). The other day I took the DRL bulb out and tried to use a blow dryer to dry it up. That night the headlight went off then turned back on about 15 minutes later. The next day same thing. Now I can't get it to come back on at all. This weekend I will switch the known good bulb to the passenger side to rule that out but any suggestions?

Thanks for the reply, yeah I saw those threads but nobody has really said yes the moisture in the headlight can cause a blown bulb or ballast

just try what you originally said you were going to do, swap the bulbs to see if the issue is the bulb itself or the ballast. the cause is relative at this point. in my own personal experience it was my hid bulbs that were bad. i swapped those out for good xenon depot ones and havent had an issue ever again

check to see if the moister cap is on the right way find those little bag of silica in shoe box or wherever and throw it inside the headlight to suck out the moister or else your headlight will turn yellow

So I switched the bulbs today and figured out that's not the problem so I guess I am ordering a ballast tonight. I saw the tutorial on how to remove the silver shield from the plugs and pull the wires out but when I take the headlight out where is the actual ballast located?

Actually I just searched and found out its underneath the headlight. Luckily I have off next week so looks like that's what I will be doing. Hopefully I can get rid of this moisture as well. Does anyone have a link to that video of how to remove the ballast without taking apart the headlight because I can't find it anymore.

not sure but if you check out youtube or in the search put in oem ballast removal and something may pop up. Or you could just upgrade to hids

I should get my new ballast in Friday, I can't wait I hate driving around with one headlight. I looked last night and realized my parking light is out as well. I know this is any controlled by the ballast so I just find it strange and hope it is in fact the ballast.

Well I replaced the ballast today and thankfully it worked. All in all it wasn't to bad to replace it.
