Hello all,
I am new to this Forum. I joined because I plan on doing some service on my car and wanted access to the wealth of DIY maintenance tips here. I have a question about my car and couldn't find the answer with the search function.
I have a 2006 IS 350 with approximately 66,000 miles. Recently I have been noticing a noise coming from the sunroof. It took me forever to figure out where the sound was coming from. I always thought it was coming from the rear of the car (it sounded like the rear windshield rattling or something hitting the glass). I finally figured out it was coming from the sunroof!
I usually notice it when driving on the highway (it doesn't happen at city speeds). I opened the visor to try and figure out what the noise is. It looks like the wind is pushing down on the sunroof glass. The glass then gets pushed down onto the black metal bar that flips up when you open the sunroof. I can feel this happening because if I stick my fingers in between the bar and the glass when driving I can feel the glass being pushed down which makes the noise. It does not happen all the time but often enough to annoy me. I guess it just has to have the wind hit it at just the right spot.
Anyway, this is driving me nuts and I wanted to know if anyone knows how to fix this problem. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the tip! I hardly ever use the sunroof so its weird that it is making noise but I guess time will loosen it too. Any tips on how to tighten that bar?
I could be wrong but it does seem that the glass is the part that is moving down...is that possible? If so, whats the fix?
