Default Is it possible to play videos on Navigation screen?

Okay, first of all I know this isnt possible from the factory for obvious reasons. Heck, it limits me to do almost everything while moving. Now, I wouldnt want to watch a movie while driving... but my son somehow came across a youtube video where someone hooked up his iphone to his navigation screen and could open up all his apps and even play videos he had on his phone.

My kids would freakin love this if its fairly easy to do. And honestly, I think maybe a few things like email would be pretty cool since I am in my car alot every day.

does anyone have a link or a how to get this done? Not sure its something Im willing to do, but something im intrested in learning more about.

you have to see if your navigation has that option, it normally has like a little sticker on it that shows DVD, and the only way to play a DVD is when you engage the parking brake.

I know this cause I watch DVD's with my daughter before I drop her off to school

Im pretty sure mine does not, however I havent even tried.
However, thats not exactly what I was referring to. Apparently there is some kind of "mod" or "hack" to hookup an iPod or iPhone and play apps/videos from the phone to the screen

If you have Mark Levinson and Navigation it is possible, if you are stopped with the e-brake on (IIRC).

I think the aftermarket piece you are referring to is from the company, Vaistech.

I believed i saw the same video as your son. But, not looking into doing it anytime soon, i think the unit is around $400 a piece!
