Oh... yes I've heard about the carbon issue actually, I didn't know they were related. It's been a year since I've been super involved in the Lex world! I've been out of the country. That's crazy that I was affected by the carbon issue as well then.
Sounds like it might still be a waste of money. I have the base model, so not much in the way of electronics. Guess it makes me sleep at night though?

Definitely worth it. I bought it a short time before the factory warranty expired. A week later the screen of the nav system froze up, instead of trying to fix it I just brought it to the dealer and they swapped it for a brand spanking new one no questions asked. That by itself already paid for it and then some. Just make sure to get it from a reputable place. There is a couple of guys from other Lexus dealer from out of state who sell that (I don't quite remember their names), reasonable price and with top notch customer service.

Yeah I have a 2010 Lexus with 45K right now, but I had the carbon build up and had to have the pistons, and rings replaced as well. Then later on I had to have an injector replaced. Lexus has always been good with getting stuff done without any hassle. Honestly.... all non-Lexus dealers should follow this motto... hell I prolly will never move away from Lexus. There service is just top notch.
