Default Check engine & Skid Control lights On

Hello Everyone,

I just got the IS 250 a couple days ago and it is now has the check engine and a skid control light are on. Have any of you come across something like this and what is the issei? The engine check and skid control light came on last night after I started the car from the groceries. Before I left home, it did not have it. I do not have the anyone pull the code yet or swing by the dealer, because they all closed. I have checked the DIY section a little and I am going to search this forum some more. If anyone have had this issue before, please shed some light for me. Pls see attach photo.

I hope someone in here will step in. Thank you guys.

Update, I just searched this forum and there were a lots of issue about this check engine light related to VSC light were one. Also, my 250 is 2009. I will drop it off at the steadership tomorrow and I will update what I find out from them. I hope it won't be the ECU issue.

Thanks

how many miles on the car? Could possibly be the transmission. Thats the problem with my car right now. Those 2 lights come on and off, but the dealer pulled some transmission codes.

Get a scanner and get the code. You can always clear the ECU by unplugging the battery.

I would hold off the stealership. I had the same stuff come on About a month ago and I just borrowed a friends scanner pulled the code and erased it. So far the car is running perfect and the light didn't come back after that. The dealer will charge you a lot for a job that you can do yourself in under 5 minutes.

The stealership calld me around 6:30 pm today, and he said that the technician pull the code and diagnose according to the code, but they did not find anything wrong based on that code. The slealership sent the report to Lexus head quarter, and they told the technician to performed a series of test and have the customer kept monitor the issue. If the light come on again, bring the car back then they will investigate further. The car has only 28000 miles on it. It's a 2009 model. I will ask more details tomorrow when I pick up the car. Will update tomorrow. I mention that based on what I found out about this issue on Clublexus forum that it could be the faulty ECU, and replace it. They told me that they can not goes by the forum out there. I will compile the same issue from this forum and I am going to report it directly to Lexus head quarter to see what are they going to do to fix in my case.

Thank you, guys.

Had this problem before, you may have to clean your MAP sensor, and change out the air filter, chances are that the car may be running too rich. Then once you clean those things out, find a friend who has a odb2code reader and see if they can clear out the code, once that is done drive the car for 5-10 mins see if it comes up again.

So whenever you change your oil, check your filter or clean it with a air compressor if you have a aftermarket filter or just replace it if you have oem.

Driving home yesterday and the vsc, skid and check engine light went on. This happened to me before, but i figured that it was the gas cap. However, its been a day or so and the lights are still on. The car feels fine, but im trying to figure it out what could it be. I have 130k+ on my mileage, 07 250.

Ok, updated from the dealership per diagnostic report: Code P0300-mutiple misfire. Performed misfire procedure 10 times per Lexus corporate recommended, not able to duplicate misfire. Create TAS Case #140620696, TAS recommends to close case. No repairs performed or recommended. They checked carbon build up and there was non. They told me to keep monitor the situation and if the CEL comes on again, just bring it back. Also, there was a note on the gas cap saying that do not tighten the cap, the CEL may come on. tight only one click. I think I did like three click before the CEL came on. They said that the 2009 model, Lexus resolve the carbon build up, however, sometime they have seen one or two, but should not 2009 only 2006 to 2008. So far, there is no CEL come on. I will report back if the CEL is on again and what is the solution from Lexus.

Thanks.

I hope nothing wrong with O2 sensors. They can cause multiple misfire. I learned that from my old toyota. I have bad sensor and had random misfires in all cylinders. codes were different all the time.
I hope the light will never come on. haha. Its just pain in the neck.
