2011 VS 2012 is350 (Yes, I've Searched)
Maximum amount to spend: 32k
So far I've gathered/noticed a couple of minor details while seeking out 2011/2012 is350's.
1. SGM replaced with NGP in 2012. (In the market for these colors only.) With that I've also noticed that all of the NGP's Ive seen only come with what they call "light grey," interior- which looks white? I was hoping to come across a NGP with black interior.
2. Read there was a "melting headlight" issue with the 2011's? Can this issue still be resolved/replaced by the manufacturer if purchased used?
My Questions:
-What other differences are there? In my brief searchers, it seems like the front end's are pretty similar?
-Any differences regarding interior? Read something about a coin holder?
-Any differences regarding motor/performance?
-Differences in exterior?
-Is there anything in particular I should look for while at the dealership/test drive?
Thanks!

1. If you find a 2012 IS350 in NGP with the F-Sport package, the interior will be black.
2. If the headlights in your 2011 or 2012 have the bubbling paint inside and you are within warranty, then they can be replaced.
In terms of interior, I do remember reading that the temperature control buttons in the 2012 are colored red and blue, whereas the 2011 is just white. I can't remember any other little differences.
Performance is the same for the 2011 and 2012 IS350.
Hope you find a car you like!

But-
1. Does anyone know if when comparing a 2011 and 2012 both non f-sport and f-sport are there any differences regarding the exterior?
2. Is there any common/uncommon issues with either a 11 or 12 is350?

bro i'd say just find a 350 F-sport with good miles in a color you like so that you can have the black interior. your going to change something on that car to customize it and then you'll get addicted anyways.

There aren't really any major differences between the 11 and 12 is350. Most of the design changes happened in 2010-2011 model years. The major difference would only be between F-sport and Non-Sport options which those might have noticable difference but if you are looking for base, then there will be no difference. Engine, brakes, suspension between the 11/12 are going to be almost identical that you wouldnt be able to even notice the difference.
The headlight issue someone else is going to have to chime in on
My opinion is if you plan on spending $32k on an 11-12, why not just add a few grand more to get a 2014. You would probably be far happier and able to order a car custom to your liking.

the only other things that I can think of is the temp buttons for the a/c controls are circular with white arrows on the 2011 and on 2012-13 they are circular with a blue arrow for colder and red arrow for hot. They also moved the Traction off button to the pannel where the gas/trunk release are located.

The headlights on 2012 have the eyelid while the headlights on the 2011 do not. Both headlights do bubble. I'm about to have mine replaced under warranty soon.
I also think the 2011 have the Lexus emblem on the left trunk while the 2012 does not. I know all 2012 does not have the Lexus emblem anymore and the older Lexus have it.
Map on the 12 is version 12.1 i think and more updated than the 11. However, the latest version now is 13.1.
