what about the trick with turning off all the driving aids except the ABS function. or does this not apply to the newer model IS's. i know in my '06 IS250 the trick works but only when i first start the car up, didn't work yesterday when i tried to do the trick after i had been driving awhile.
try out this: engage and release the parking brake twice, hold down the second time, press down on the brakes twice, again while holding down, engage and release the parking brake again, hold down the second time and repeat this process until you see the yellow skidmark symbol light up on your dash (supposedly this turns off all traction related driver aids) toyota allegedly uses this trick when putting the vehicle up on the dyno.

That is only required on 2006 models. Later models you can just press and hold the button.
