Hardwiring my radar detector into my fuse box, where would be the best place to do it
So as the title says, I'm hardwiring my radar into my fuse box of my 07' IS250. I have everything ready to go, but I need to know the best place to plug the add-a-fuse with 2 10amp fuses. I have the cover and took a picture. I would love some help on this. (Picture of cover below)

I actually ran it along the top and tucked it into the lining. I ran it around the A pillar and then around the rubber siding on the door. then just had a tiny cross of the wire come out (you only see about 1in of wire) that disappears under the steering column. I can take pictures tomorrow if you guys want. I know I could have done the mirror, but I didn't realize that until I ordered the smart cord.

I tapped into my rear view mirror for my Escort detector. It was easy and clean.
Just take the rear view mirror off and tap into the rear view mirrors harness it self on a work bench. Then its plug and play.. You'll have to find out what is the power and ground wires to tap into. They sell modified wire tap on amazon to do this kind of thing. I also used a Mirrormount to mount it under the mirror as well.

1. Does it just take a mini APM/ATM fuse like this?
Amazon.com: FAST SHIPPING* ADD CIRCUIT MINI APM ATM FUSE TAP Add ON DUAL CIRCUIT ADAPTER AUTO CAR TERMINAL + 5 AMP FUSE: Car Electronics
or is it something weird like low-profile mini, micro2, micro3?2. Did the fuse cover close securely and fit fine after you added the fuse tap?
3. I see you went with TV1. I assume that circuit is switched with the ignition, therefore your radar detector turns off when you have your car parked. For my needs I need one of each. A switched and an un-switched for my dash cam's parking surveillance mode. Any ideas how to test fuse slots for which are switched and un-switched?
4. It looks like the IS has many unused slots. Did you try one of those before settling on TV1?

I have an '06 IS 250 AWD and will be adding a couple of the same kind of fuse tap devices you used. I have a few quick questions for you:

1. Yes, I picked up one just like that from Autozone.
2. It would have, but I didn't try. I couldn't see it, so it didn't bother me. You would have had to close it well though.
3. Just test different fuses until you get the desired result, sorry I don't know a lot about this.
4. I just flat out used the TV1.
