I think its that the LEDs are too much like spotlights instead of the nice clean diffusion on the OEM lights. They really wouldn't look that bad if the projector was bigger and if the LED portion closer to the grille was less "chunky". As it stands they remind me of the LEDs on the newer Nissan Sentras and SUVs, ie. not horrible, but not the best either.

Can't beat OEM
not sure what you guys were expecting from eBay headlights. As they say, you get what you pay for... And Ive posted twice in this thread already that these headlights won't be worth your money...
Plus, you lose OEM HID and the projectors are crap. Not sure why everyone is getting excited over these. If you want LEDs, save up and wait till you can afford the legit ones!

Mine are arriving tonight. Unfortunately i pulled the trigger before seeing the Australian guy's review.
Hopefully will be updating in the next day or two with results. As for LEDs, its hard to capture how they look in person versus how they look in pictures.
Also did some googling and these headlights are popular on the hidplant. From what i've gathered so far, since they are h1 proejctors, they may be replaced with d2s or other projectors with some minor modifications. All this effort is probably not worth it for someone who wants a plug and play unit out of the box, but i wanted to tinker with the headlights so this would be a good set to experiment with.

The LED's are not as blue as that picture looks. I'll get some pics in the dark. later. I didn't swap anything out in these lights... This is how they look right out of the box. Like I said... I think it would look a lot nicer if the LED's in the LED strip were brighter, or there were a few more (LED's) and less space between them.

since we are on the 2012 HL topic, is there 2 different types of 2012"s like the 06-08 have the HID version and the halogen projector version, does the 2012 set have two different types? asking because if there is only one type I will post a link to a reasonably priced set for everyone to get! I found a site that keeps them instock, going to post it anyways and then hopefully those with the knowledge can tell me if these would fit an 08 IS that has the factory HID, AFS, functions

2011+ comes with two sets of headlights again. The standard halogen lights on the base models (the same as the ones used in 05-10) and the LED DRL's which are HID equipped.

Just finished installing with also a 6k HID kit and all works well.
Initial impressions - Like another member said, the leds are just like the new accord's leds. The projectors are not bad by any means, and the cutoff line is VERY VERY sharp. Much better than the OEM non-hid projects IMO. Fitment is a 8/10, and could use some adjusting. Overall well worth the $400. I wouldnt pay any more than that though.
Pics tomorrow since my camera is charging.
