That's a mistake to even negociate that price. That should means nothing to you. You have no idea how much his fee would be on top and what other taxes would add.
I think it's a high price and you should not feel bad for walking away.

They honestly know their inventory and what amount of money they can get their used vehicles for. Relatively high resale value and small IS350 inventories make for strong pricing at LEXUS dealerships.

Now, though buying a CPO is definitely a fail-safe for any issues the vehicle might have down the road, you can find a real deal if sourcing the same thing from a non-Lexus dealership from a trade-in or something. The great thing about the 2IS is people don't know the differences between the '06 model and a '13 model; to an outsider, they all appear the same. If you can find a low-mileage early model year 2IS, would you even look at it?

Lexus doesn't dictate how dealerships sell cars.

I had negotiated Lexus CPO cars before from list price of $32,000 to $27,000; still didn't buy it because it's not worth that much. It's not about how much you can negotiate down from a list price.

CPO's are in demand; they know if you don't purchase the vehicle, there's someone next inline that will (especially a lexus).

Dealer cost on the CPO warranty used to be $500 but dealers were slipping cars through without proper inspections and letting Lexus foot the bill on any repairs the cars needed (dealers are supposed to carry out any repairs/renovation the cars need before it is CPO'd). So Lexus increased the cost to $1000 and I believe that is the current dealer cost.

From my understanding, once a car is CPO, that VIN is submitted to Lexus and registered with them. Odd how they offered to sell as non CPO...

I had a similar experience of the salesman playing "hardball" with my wife' is250. Made my offer for out the door price, he said he couldnt do it, called me a week later and asked if i was still interested at my offering price...stick to your guns and dont get attached to the vehicle and only pay what your comfortable paying
