Wondering if anyone can tell me if this noise is normal during idle. I dont recall hearing it this loud before. Not the ticking noise (fuel injectors) but that other truckish noise in the backround. Thanks in advance.

Seems pretty normal to me. I don't know why but almost every IS 2 gen does this. Depending on how many miles you have on your car you may need to replace your belts which are like $50.

FYI: We don't have a timing belts we have timing chains and you don't need to replace those.

Sounds like piston slap. Normal for these cars.

I've been hearing this exact noise since the start of December. I only started noticing after the recall and thought it might also just be down to the cold winter weather. It goes away after warm up (5-10 minutes) but I'd still like to know if it's something to be concerned about.
