Default Painted mufflers on F sport exhaust

Just wondering if anyone has painted their F sport exhaust (mufflers) to get that stock look. Curious on how it would look like on a 2gen IS. I know corradoMR2 did it on his 3Gen IS and looks pretty clean. He used high heat flat black on the magna flow mufflers.

If anyone has tried this, can you provide photos please? Thanks!

The only painted mufflers I have ever seen was for the special edition 2013 ISF. But they painted them to make it stand out, not blend in haha:

NYKnick101: you're right there is no advantage. I'm just curious if anyone has done it as a preference to have an OEM look.

I'm wondering how that would look on a black IS, would this be the next step in "murdering it out" black??

might look cool, not sure.

i think of black IS nice polished mufflers would look alot cleaner. sometimes you get to a point where you dont want too much of one color, because then it starts to look tacky. black car, black wheels, black tint, black brakes, black mufflers... thats going too far lol

My mufflers on my PPE exhaust are ceramic coated black. Just they way I like 'em.

Only reason I could think of to paint it black is to look stealth or a sleeper car. I liked my polished exhaust to accent the black car.

I clean my F Sport exhaust every other days because the soot make the tips black and make it look dirty. On another hands, you want to paint it black... It looks kind of tacky or unnatural.

Save your money for something else?

FSportIS, thanks for your feedback. I don't think I would ever paint the tips black. I just wanted to know how it would look to make the Fsport exahust look like an OEM exhaust by just making only the 2 cans/mufflers flat black not the tips.

You can paint them if you really really want but it is kind of unconventional and not recommended.

If you do paint them, make sure you use high temp paint or powerder coat them since the mufflers run hot. This is to prevent chip/crack/bubble on the paint.

I wonder if plasti dip can be used just to test it out. Plasti dip supposedly can withstand up to 200 degrees F. I'm not sure how hot the exhaust gets.
