hows it going fellas ... im not sure if you read my first about having issues with my first lexus.., in brief detail the car has low compression on cylinder #3 from what I gathered it needs to have the rings replaced , ok so im playing the waiting game with the dealership I purchased the car from to see how they plan on resolving the problem, ok the local lexus dealership here in North Carolina has been servicing the car for me since I had it , the tech @ Johnson lexus said have the rings replaced & the problem would be solved, the cost would be a little more than 5k for this service, the dealership I purchased the car from wants to put a salvaged engine with low miles in the car to save them from that 5k bill . what I need to know is do I have a say so in the matter or what options as a consumer are available too me: BTW I bought the car in Maryland im from North Carolina...

If I was you, I would do everything in my power to get my money back! I would contact the better business bureau, your local attorney general, see if there's a lemon law! If you have a note, I would contact the bank and see what they can do to help. You don't know what kind of issues you will have down the road by replacing the engine, IMO .. But that's just me!

what type of warranty will dealer give you with the engine swap? do they gurantee you a loaner if you have problems? if they offer good warranty I would let them replace it.

What year and mileage on your car vs. the replacement engine? What kind of warranty you will get? I would go for the replacement engine if it is from a new car with lower mileage and some source of warranty on it. Not sure if I trust the dealer tech to rebuild the engine
