Strange fluid pouring sound on start-up?
Ok so this is one of those nebulous issues which I'm really not overly concerned about but would feel much better about if I knew there was some explanation for.
Basically, on start up, while idling, I'll often hear a distinct sound from the engine bay that sounds like liquid being poured. Really, that's what it sounds like! I've never actually got out, popped the hood and tried to pinpoint the location as I figure the sound would be gone by the time I get there.
Any ideas?

I'm getting the exact same thing on cold start up. Didnt do it when I got the car but now since I got the carbon buildup service done I been hearing it.
Don't hear it as much anymore.

Yea you're going to have to open that hood with the engine on to find out where that sound is coming from. I had a waterfall sound, turned out to be the bearings on my waterpump going out.
Post a video of that sound if you can.

My old Camry solara used to have that sound. Had it for 3 years and no issues what so ever. But you can hear the sound inside the cabin. sounds like flowing water. I am still wondering where is it coming from.

What you're hearing is air in the coolant lines. Nothing to be alarmed about. If you just had your coolant flushed and replaced, the mechanics could have let some air in. They'd need to purge it out by running the engine and letting the coolant rise so the system can basically burp it out.

i had that same noise. mine was kinda bubbly though. a few months later i was driving and my engine temp sky rocketed and my engine started smoking.
water pump failed.
haven't heard it since i got it replaced. i would stat saving up for when that thing fails because the labor put a dent in my wallet.

Tried that this weekend - unfortunately, the sound of the engine completely drowned out the fluid sound I can hear inside the cabin.
