Default hood won't close?

Installed a F Sport grill on my 2011 is350 and now hood will not close.

Tried:
-Holding latch from inside the car open and hood down then releasing the latch.
-Latch seems to be in working condition
-Greased up the latch

What now

I'm assuming you didn't shift or remove the hood? Try seeing if you accidentally lock the latch before putting down the hood, if you lock the latch before the the shutting the hood it will just keep hitting the latch, I'm not sure why would a grill would cause the hood not to latch. Second, try seeing if the hood latch in the car isn't stuck causing your hood to stay open, update us when you find the problem.

got it to close once, got home to try to fix the problem now it will not close again. I'm not interested in just closing it; I want to fix the problem

Try installing the old grill and see what happens that will let you know if your new oem grill is compatible.

Make sure the plastic engine covers are not on the hood bump stops.... that is a common thing that is overlooked

Can you take a pic of your install, maybe we can spot the problem for you.

would the weatherstripping above the grill could have caused this if it was re-installed facing the wrong way? Not the wrong way meaning upside down... All of the "clips" snapped in place...
