Question Vdim!!

Okay so I would like to add VDIM to my 06 is250 AWD so I guess I'm trying to say... Is it possible? And if it is how much time+effort+money would be spent on it?

According to Wiki, our cars already have VDIM.

I believe the earlier IS250s only had VSC (and a bunch of other nannies acting independently) while the VDIM system remained exclusive to the IS350 for the first 2 or 3 years.

OP, as most of us find the VDIM system to be fairly intrusive when it comes to spirited driving, I would not recommend the conversion (if the conversion is even possible).

well i planned on doing an ISF engine nd tranny conversion nd i believe i may need VDIM for this conversion so its confusing as h*ll so yea but i understand it inhibits the driving experience

As I'm looking over the Wiki posting again I'm seeing that Red you're right; it mentions the "2005" IS350 (I assume all future years) and the 2008 IS250. So the first few years of the IS250 doesn't appear to come with VDIM.

I sent out the full wiring diagram of VDIM. Its touchpoints are plentiful and would require quite a few wire pins to be implemented to a non-vdim car. That said, its doable with proper planning and execution. I'd be real iffy about it after seeing what I've seen just with all the wiring differences on the ISF vs IS350 (vdim equipped).

Here are the VDIM ECU pinouts. Just skimming thru you can get a highlevel of critical touchpoints:
