Weird steering sensation...2011 IS350.
Went for a romantic getaway with my wife to Solvang last weekend and we took scenic highway 154 past Santa Barbara where there were nice long stretches of highways with gentle sweeping curves.
I noticed a weird steering feel with my 2011 IS350 on some of those long curves.
Basically when I'm taking a long gentle curve and I'm holding the wheel with one hand, it feels as if the power steering is kicking in and out. Like the resistance is getting lighter, then heavier, then alternating. The resistance is not consistent through the curve even if I'm keeping the steering angle the same.
Anybody experience anything remotely similar? Maybe I'm just extra sensitive to steering feel?
I'm running full F-Sport shocks/springs/sways if that matters....

I have notice this. It seems to happen on constant curves which the steering resistance seems to be un-intuitive sometimes. Once the steering seems to locked on me that I need to force back. I posted this in another thread:
This has happened to me once a couple months ago. It might happened another time before, but I can't clearly recall.
What happens is the road is about a 35 degrees constant curve not on freeway, and I hold the steering in that direction for about 5 seconds; when the road straighten out, I tried to lightly guide the steering wheel to the new straight road, but the steering wheel seems to be locked in the previous position. I have to use quite a bit more force than normal to force it straight.
I can't reproduce this, so I didn't get it check at the dealer. I have a 2008 IS350 as well.

I went from a 2007 IS to a 2013 IS, and the steering characteristics are night and day. The 2013 has what feels like loose steering. It doesn't respond as accurately to steering wheel inputs, and like you, I experience odd adjustments on gradual turns at highway speeds. The steering is jacked up. I think they screwed up the design, and likely someone or some group is well aware of it.
