Default Borla, magnaflow, or flowmaster straight pipe exhaust?

I've been running Megan racing catback exhaust with the invidia midpipe for a while and it's loud for sure but there's too much drone inside the car if I'm doing over 65. I'm thinking about switching to a straight pipe exhaust but still running the midpipe but I don't know which one gives off a throatier and low tone sound if combined with the midpipe. If I do this, it will be a custom welded exhaust, not the actual product ordered from the company's site. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

If you straight pipe it, it will drone even worser. I have a custom true dual straight pipe to borla mufflers and it drones bad....

Is there anything that will still be loud but won't drone? My friend's got a G37 with a full custom meistershaft exhaust and I don't think it drones at all but you can hear it from a good quarter mile away at least.

So you want to be loud and have no drone? Maybe a Greddy with your mid pipe will work. Invidia mid pipes I've noticed make it raspier.

Here you go! My current set-up is an Invidia midpipe with no mufflers. It's too damn loud, going to put mufflers on next week. If you want a deep tone, cut off your Megan cans and put Magnaflow mufflers in place. This is probably the 8th exhaust set-up I've had and Magnaflows give off the deepest sound. I use to have HKS and Megan and it made it quiet and didn't sound deep at all.

so the lowest toned exhaust setup that I can get with the least amount of drone is magna flow catback with the invidia midpipe? This will be my third time changing my exhaust and it's gonna cost me a bit so I don't want to feel like I wasted money if I do end up changing it lol

I'd go with a Japanese exhaust such as Greddy or hks. Both will give you a deep roar with the midpipe. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/showthread.php?t=620447&styleid=15

Here's a link to my thread. If you go tomy YouTube channel you will also be able to view several other videos I made to show the drone in cabin. Hope it helps You can also try the tanabe medallion exhaust as it tends to be quiet with very little drone...

It depends but you want a custom route right? You can't get the Magnaflow "catback" and still use the Invidia. I was suggesting you cut off the Megan mufflers and put on Magnaflow mufflers about the same size. I've changed my exhaust almost every 4-6 months. I've had many set-ups and found Magnaflows to sound the deepest almost sounding like as if I had an 8 cylinder. Also depends how loud you want outside because I found it almost impossible to have a loud exhaust without any drone. Maybe try out the new Ark exhaust system for our cars. It's the only system with "helmholtz" resonators that come out the mufflers to reduce drone.

How much was this setup? I know HKS is discontinued so my best bet might be with Greddy but Greddy is too high pitched for me lol.

F Sport exhaust with Invidia midpipe. F Sport exhaust alone has pretty nice deep tone and very little to no drone.

The f sport exhaust is actually too high pitched for me. I used to have a mustang so that's why most of the JDM exhaust systems out there for Lexus isn't low toned enough for me, my current setup was the closest I could get to being low toned but even now sometimes the drone is killing me and I can't hear my passengers talk or I have to blast my music at 15-20 volume to literally drone out the drone if that makes sense. My previous setup was worse (two flowmaster mufflers with stock exhaust) and my current setup is indeed louder and less drone but I'm pretty sure I can find something just as loud/louder with less drone.

Quick Reply: Borla, magnaflow, or flowmaster straight pipe exhaust?
