Default Pitted M2 Exhaust tips

Hey Everyone, I bought the M2 axleback exhaust about a month ago, but after installing it, I realized the tips look to be poorly constructed/damaged. The top looks almost like it has been hit with a sander and there are pit marks and gouges in the end.

I am talking with the company I bought them from and they are talking with M2. They suggested sending it back for a replacement, but that is a bit of a pain in the *** since I live in Canada and had this shipped to the US.

At first I thought of polishing the marks out, but I think the pits and gouges are too deep. Do you think painting the inside black may look okay, or kinda tacky and cheap? Any other suggestions to fix the tips?

Painting them black would solve it but I personally wouldnt do that (just my taste) And if ur opposed to sending them back you could get a set of Magnaflow tips and have them welded on to get rid of the problem all together. Ive always found it hit and miss with an off brand company like M2, or Manzo...

I wouldnt paint it..I have the same m2 exhaust and I love it =) quietest aftermarket exhause out there.

I would weld another tip on there. or just keep it like that and drive it for awhile because overtime the exhause smoke will cover it up..

Not with how often I clean my car.

How do your tips look? Do they look a lot better and pit free?

Mine are much better than that... My 2 year old exhaust is in better shape than that... I'd get a replacement.

Mines brand new and doesn't look anything like that. Just cut them off and bolt/weld on new tips. Any exhaust shop can do this for $20-$30

I tried the M2 brand new for the IS350. The edge is washed out but I didn't have the those cut like yours. I regretted it though. I like the F Sport exhaust way way way more in term of look and sound.

What you pay is what you get, m2 exhaust is a deal for its price, and tbh once the black ash builds up I'm sure most of the scratches are unnoticeable

Really? That sucks. So they were good before and polishing them brought out defects?

UPDATE: Just wanted to say that everythign got sorted out with the exhaust tips.

Both Megan (exhaust) and Sonic Motor did an excellent job of making the best out of the situation. I highly recommend buying from Sonicmotor.com, not only did they have the best prices I could find but the service was top notch!

No i think just having them on the car did that. The metal is pretty soft.
