Default 2007 Lexus IS 350 Head Lights issue

I have a 2007 Lexus IS 350 with 99000 miles I bought it about 7 months ago. I have this issue where the headlight goes out after a period of driving. I start it it turns on than it will shut off after maybe 5 minutes of driving.. Its the drivers side. So i bought new light bulbs at first replaced them and It did the same thing. Work for 5 - 10 minutes than shut off. I can turn my headlights off and on real quick again and they stay on some times for hours.. some times 2 minutes mostly just turn off after about 5 minutes. So I did a little more research. I was told try replacing the ballast. So I ordered a OEM Ballast. Replaced it on the headlight and bam still does the same thing. At that point I was getting a little mad. So I changed the headlight bulb from drivers side to passenger side.. It worked for over a week didnt have any issues. Now its doing it again. Sometimes when the lights go to turn on automatically both lights wont turn on... I have to switch them off than on again then the drivers will die after 5 minutes again. I really dont understand anyone have anything like this.. please help.

Did you buy OEM phillips or toshiba bulbs? Had the same problem and a new bulb took care of it.

I had the same issue but it turns out that it was just the bulbs. However I didnt buy Toshiba or Phillips, I purchased the same Hid from amazon that I originally bought when I got the car, Kensuns. After ordering ANOTHER pair of bulbs due to the first pair being faulty, that solved the issue.

Tell us what kind of bulbs you bought. I replaced my phillips with OSRAMs and could not be happier.

I had this issue and my SO said it was the bulb or ballast - new bulbs (OEM) fixed the issue.

That is the exact issue my mother is having on her 07 Toyota Solara SLE with HID's, all stock. We replaced bulbs and ballast, all oem. Still got the issue. Read a bunch about Prius owners having the issue as well...

Try swapping the bulb to the other side and see if the problem switches sides as well. Usually the issue is a bad bulb, they will ignite, but then go out shortly after and will reignite when you turn them off and back on.

We tried that, it happens on both sides intermittently. Quick spin of the light switch and they are good for a little bit.

gotta be careful with what you are buying. i bought a bulb off of amazon once and if i wasn't as picky and **** as i am i would have never noticed that the bulb was used. looked clean but when you looked closely at it there was a little dirt in crevices. after reading the sellers feedback turns out it was a common thing.
