I don't get why people reset there ECU with the flash. It defeats the purpose of it actual doing what it claims. I can reset to learn my aggressive driving and not waste $700.

True. But l5JLlll's recent post shows that after 1000 miles of driving, it has lost the HP that it gains with the initial "tune". Proving once again it's not effective after driving for a while

194 WHP is still better than a stock is 250 which average 160-165 wheel horsepower on the the same dyno
so 194 on my car or even 201 are still gains
lets do a small math
162-194= 32 WHP
its holding up nicely

I'll await your bone stock dyno numbers then. Even VR showed a very unimpressive 7whp gain on a 250 (which is ironically the same gain you show between the two graphs)... If its this inconsistent, even more the reason to avoid this product. Your only proof thus far is that it loses power after time. Like i said, i'll await your bone stock number so we can do the actual math.
Someone needs to dyno their IS250 with bolt ons and stock to see what kinda of gains there are and then compare the numbers to the tuned IS250 but 190-200HP thats not bad considering they are 207 to the crank
i am guessing the vr tuned chip is trash?. also wanted to say that i found this other chip called gte performance chip. it seems to be the same as vrtuned just different name and cost less. $99. anyways was planning on getting this but after reading thrue pages on this thread i dont think i will be purchasing this product.
I dont mean to stir the pot here, but guys, unless youre dealing with SARD in Japan, dont waste your money or time on some "potential" chip that has little credibility.

I'm glad you guys wrote this up cause I was interested in getting it. Not anymore. Lol. I'mma wait til others have confirmed this to be true. Sucks we can't do much with this engine, as of yet. I've seen the people getting nos, turbo, supercharger but I don't have that kind of money to do that.
[QUOTE=heyarms;8801980]Novel uses SARD if i understand correctly. Although SARD does offer a tune for the JDM 2IS and ISF, they do not offer a tune for USDM 2IS.
Anymore info on this? What kind of tune do they offer? Is there anyway we a usdm can convert to a JDM one for the tune to work ?

I remember looking into this when this whole VIVID Racing thing came out. Quick answer YES you can easily swap out a USDM ECU for a JDM ECU. The pins and harness is exactly the same. HOWEVER, you have to get passed the immobilizer which I don't think anyone has successfully done; you wont pass USDM emissions with a JDM ECU (thats why the old honda guys used Pre 96 ECU's on those tuned civics); AND you still have to get the software with an authorized tuner to actually DO the work. And last I remember, all of SARD's stuff is in Japanese and I cant read Japanese nor can my local tuner.
There was a thread from Lexus Owners Club AU (Australia) that convinced the owner of SARD to come their country to tune their cars. He charged $4,200 per car, minimum 10 cars plus flight/stay and amenities.
At that point, you are already a couple grand deep (about 1/4 to 1/2 of what the car is worth) for un-promised amount HP gains which is NOT worth it. At that point, its just easier to invest in a faster easier to tune car
