I am looking at this, upgrading from a 2004 4runner and looking for something that'll last me just as long.

The only thing that concerns me is that it has 5 owners, the hell is up with that?
Anyways, I need your unbias (yea unbias in a lexus forum) opinions and if you think it's worth it or not.
Does Lexus have the problem where the parts are only accessible by the dealers and overpriced? Or should I not even worry about major repairs?

The car could have had a couple co-signers in its life. Run the VIN through a Lexus dealer to get any detailed service history. There is a site that will give you minimal info if there is history.
Test drive a is350 before you buy

If I was in your situation, I wouldn't go for it. In 7 years 5 different people have own the car (assuming it was different people and not just someone "transferring" the title to a family member) but still. I'd say keep looking, these pop up often so it won't be the last one.

Alright, I have asked the dealer to explain the situation, and they'll get back to me.
Yea the IS 350 is a much better car, however, I need an AWD and still have it affordable (under 16k).
Do you guys see the link on the first post? Or is it just visible to me? I don't remember seeing a message that blocks links until now.
If you cannot,
Copy and paste "Used 2007 Lexus IS 250 AWD Mileage: 96,320" into google (minus the quotes). The car will be the one on auto trader and sold in Nebraska, should be the first link.

I know your dead set on a 250 but seriously atleast try a 350 even if just for kicks . My brother has a 2006 AWD IS250 and i have a 2006 Rwd IS350 and my car is leaps and bounds better than his (IMO). As an even bigger plus my car only gets about 1-2 mpg less than him on average

If it was me, I would keep the 4runner and get a 350. When/IF you get the IS, you are going to compromise space, not only cargo but passenger space. The rear seat is slim to non existent (do a search on IS rear seat) and there is no rear retractable bench to create larger trunk space. Both things i overlooked when I got my 250 AWD. The AWD is a plus but not worth it over a 4runner imo especially if you live in colorado

Yea I am having a problem doing just that.
Usually at that price it's 100-140k miles, RWD, or has a reported accident.
The financial situation is complicated in regards to this. I don't need the space, and in this current situation I am getting the 4runner for about 3 times it's worth. But no matter, my max is $16k. And Mileage under 100k, the is350 does not really meet that.
