Default ML Door Speaker Replacements

Hey everybody, just found out (or just fully realised) today that my two rear mid speakers are blown. I apparently have had them blown since i bought the car but never really cared to look into why there was more sound in front than in the back of the car lol.

Anyway so the situation is thar my 2 rear mids are gone (they dont make ANY sound) as well as my sub (no sound at all anymore). My car has been like this for last month or so and ive been growing tired of having such a flat sounding system in the car. I come from a family full of bass heads and audiophiles so im kinda used to hearing something more on the upscale side of audio which is I specifically looked for an IS350 with ML on it. Anyway so ive been researching and havent come up with anything yet, but basically...

I wanna replace the blown ML rear mids and sub with higher quality speakers so i can enjoy my stereo again. Do you guys know of any speakers that could directly replace my current blown ones? I plan on swapping all of them out eventually but for now i wanna focus on these. I could really use some help from you guys and i would to hear any experience you folks have had with this. Thanks

You sure that the speakers are the issue?

Pretty sure of it. Before the sub went out it would rattle and distort like crazy till it eventually just gave out completely

Might try looking for speaker repair kits. I blew a JL audio sub and opted to repair it and it was good as new. Anyway, post some pics of the area that's "ripped" and we might be able to give you pointers. If that fails one could write ML and see if they can repair it.

Im actually looking to just replace the speakers instead as i plan to eventually replace them all with a higher quality speaker brand.

I think i read somewhere that somebody had replaced theirs with polk audio but im not sure. Anyone know any speakers that are plug and play or atleast capable of working with the stock ML unit?

Well guys it looks like i actually found my own answer. I was doing some digging over at the my.is forums and to my suprise we ML owners dont even have a 3rd set of speakers on the rear doors (the ones located at the handles) instead we get 2 individual speaker at the rear of the car by the sub to help give the car a "surrounding" sound.

LOL i feel so stupid now. Anyway thanks again guys for trying to help and who knows maybe this is news for some you folks here too

Now on to getting a true sub installed in my ride. Off i go to zenclosures

If you're looking to replace speakers in the front or rear, I used the Hertz 3 ways. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/lex...with-pics.html
