Default Sunroof rattle!

Ok so last night while driving with the sunroof tilted open I noticed a slight rattling sound whenever I went over a rough spot in the road! It doesn't do it with the sunroof closed, or slid open. Only when its tilted. Is this normal? What should I do? It isn't horrible but its enough to drive me insane!

I had this a few years ago, but when it was in the slide position. My windscreen was broken.

Ok I think I know this. During my tan->black conversion I unsnapped one of the parts on the side of the sunroof (once its open if you look towards back of car you can see the black plastic on left and right) by mistake. Every single time the car went over a rough part of road you could hear plastic on plastic quickly tapping against each other. Thought it was a part I broke off, but luckily all you have to do is snap the part back in place.

I came back to it determine to end the noise, so I unsnapped the other side to see how it was supposed to snap in. Once I saw that then I understood how to fix the other side. Hardest part is finding the ridge that its supposed to go in.

Good Luck and PATIENCE!! It was driving me nuts.

Can you explain this any better? LOL sorry but I have this problem too. Always thought it was because my coilovers were too stiff or something

1. tilt the sunroof open
2. position yourself in between L/R seat facing the back of your car
3. put hand in the left or right corner of sunroof and feel for a loose plastic piece (no space to see what you are doing, very tight!)
4. Once you find the loose piece, go to opposite corner and find the same plastic piece and pull it out and then pop it back in.
5. Now that you know how its supposed to pop out/in fix the original side.

This is the only way I knew to fix it. Literally sitting then contorted for 20 minutes trying to slide it back in.

Hope this helps!

I had this rattle problem, but it always rattle no matter what position the sunroof is in. I took it to the dealer and they replaced some part and the rattle gone away.
