O2 sensors went out after replacing water pump. HELP, HELP, HELP.
so, on sunday i took my car to my mechanic to get the water pump replaced. after replacing it, and driving the car around for a few minutes, the check vsc warning came on, along with the check engine light and the traction control light coming on as well (i dont remember which order they came on). we connected a code reader which told us the set of O2 sensors went out, the ones before the cats? i have no idea what happened, for them both to go out like that is very odd. is it maybe because he didnt disconnect the battery before he started unplugging harnesses and what not that it may have shorted something out? anything would help.
its a 2006 is350 btw. 110k miles.

Sounds like some coolant could have been spilled on or around the header/O2 sensor area causing those error codes. I'd give the car a few heat cycles to burn off any spillage and then reset the car by disconnecting the battery for at least 20 mintues. Then see if it returns.

well, we took it around the block and thats when we noticed it, and thats when we attempted to disconnect the battery and restart the system the first time. and the work wasnt one at a shop, but i trust the guy's work 100%. hes been working on toyota/lexus since he was 18.
