relieved to know i'm not the only one, i'll pm them as well
did you need to get wheel alignment done afterward? mine is off-center now on highway speed

Gap looks normal to me. Remember this is a moving part. You don't want it to be flush or it would rub. My friend's ISF has the stock wheel, and his gap is the same as mine - Looks the the ones posted here.

Looks normal to me too. I replaced my stock wheel with a F Sport had it off a few times. There needs to be
some space there to accommodate the movement and the
electrical connection ring ( special name ).

Also be careful of the airbag and static discharge , shorting or connection to a car with the battery connected. Rule is disconnect for 15 min then work on it. It's a rare thing but it happens. You don't want to get that in the face.
