Default New Dashboards 06-07 IS & RX

Good new everyone!

I went in yesterday for my 80K maintenance on my 07 IS 350, and told them my dashboard recenlty started to melt and crack at the vents. I asked them what they can do and they said Lexus is already putting together a plan and making parts. They said they may be able to get it replaced for free by May 2015. I know this has been an ongoing issue for a lot of people. I am the only owner of my car, so I can't tell you what will happen if you bought your car used. I hope this helps.

Nick

^Another thread providing a little glimmer of hope! Though mine isn't melting, it have gotten soft enough to catch lint, hair, dust, etc and have permanently trapped it into the material. In the right light you cannot see it; but also in the right light you can see a mess up there. Makes me

The same thing is happening to my dash where it gets sticky to catch lint and dust during the day when the interior is warm.

I guess I am surprised I am not having this issue, as it can get pretty hot hear in Houston, Texas.

I think it's a combination of heat and humidity that's causing this issue.

Yea, and that's something we have plenty of down here. Maybe I need to go take a closer look.

I lived in Corpus Christi for about 4 years and didn't have a problem until I went to VA. Suddenly my dash started to get sticky and during the Polar Vortex my dash had 2 long cracks overnight. I am just glad something is being done.
