This is great for everyone. Mine aren't sticky or cracking so now I got to decide if I want to let them rip apart my dash on a car I just got. Now if they would do a recall on the 'startup cam noise' I would be a happy camper.

There was a recall for that on the is350. Not too sure about the 250

Already heard from a Camry owner who's dealer mentioned it's a "secret replacement for people who complain about the melting dash". His is getting fixed right away though at no cost.

Good to hear it's getting fixed though, one less thing to look for on my next IS purchase.

Does anybody know or think these will be replaced for all or just the original owners . I'm hoping for all since it's a safety issue with the glare off the great melt! That dash panel making factory has got to be working 24/7 because that's a lot of panels.

I just bought a 2007 IS350 and knew about the problem from lurking on this forum while I was searching for one and mine is more like a chia pet with hair and lint stuck to it but just sticky now with the cold weather. lol It was negotiated into the price i paid and planned to buy a new one from Sewell.

Just so everyone knows.. this is not a recall. Its simply an extension of the warranty that is only applicable to the concerns listed. So if your panels and dash do not exhibit the concern, they wont replace them. Pretty amazing of Lexus if you ask me... they dont really have any obligations to fix problems outside of warranty, other than insanely good customer service, so be thankful. Other manufacturers would (and do) tell you to go pound sand.

My door panel plastics are scoring. My car isnt under warranty anymore unfortunately. Im taking it in for my fuel pressure regulator recall soon. Think they would honor the replacement door panels?

I'm active in the GX section of the forum but the conversation about the dashboard issue is more active here.

Does anyone know if the warranty extension applies to cracked dashboards in addition to the melting issue?

I wonder how long the warranty extension lasts. My door panels have slight cracking around the handles. But my dash is pretty straight aside from a few light scratches. I just don't want it to melt two years from now and be stuck with it

I dont have the melting or cracking dash or panels. Is it just a matter of time? I have an 06 is350 with 65k miles.

This is great news. I paid for labor only for the dealership to replace my melting dash citing the safety hazard the glare created.

Got my dashboard/front/rear interior door panel warranty enhancement program letter today! Cant wait to get this finally fixed! This is for 2006-2008 IS 250/350 and 2007 LS 460 vehicles. States second letter will come around spring 2015 letting us know that they have sufficient parts.

Can anyone confirm this is USA only?

My canadian dealer told me they use different materials in USA for the dash and door panels.

I find that kind of hard to believe?
