problem with my IS the day before I return it
So I got a problem with my second gen IS, it just had to be the day right before I return the car to the dealership for my lease. It happened under acceleration and then all of a sudden, my CEL came on and the screen said TRAC OFF. I couldn't figure out what the problem was, stopped on the side of the street and then restarted my car, didn't take care of the problem. Took a turn a bit quick, my tires didn't spin so I know my traction wasn't really off. I pressed and held the traction control button down but nothing changed. Anyone know what caused this? Again, I'm returning the car tomorrow so I'm hoping best case would be to return the car without having to fix anything up. Thanks!

I called a local o'reilly's and they unfortunately do not allow OBD2 reading services. Apparently the state of CA doesn't allow it anymore -__-. Luckily I got a friend who's got an OBD2 reader lol.

I brought it to my mechanic's place (not sure why I didn't think of it earlier) and the error code turned out to be the secondary cats that went bad. Idk how, I did modify the exhaust but the cats were placed in a safe location. So, he just turned off the CEL and restarted the car BUT my mechanic did say the same thing about the warranty. I'm not driving the car anymore until I have to drive it to the dealership tomorrow.

If anything (if it turns on again [knocks on wood]), I'll just go to my mechanic's place again and have him turn it off. No, my exhaust is fully back to stock now and I gave myself one day of grace period just in case anything like this happens (which it did).
