What is the lowest pressure we can reset tpms with?
This might be a dumb question but I order the techstream to program my car to a new set of tpms sensors. I bought it used and rims didn't have any so I'm going to build a pressure container. It would be nice if I don't have to have it exactly at 35 psi but maybe can just put a low amount of pressure. I've read it will trigger a fault if it exceeds 20% of 35psi, but is that because it was programmed to 35psi ? Thanks

Yes.
By law the TPMS must trigger if the tire pressure is 25% below the pressure listed on the tire placard (sticker) in the door jamb.
The pressure listed on the placard (sticker) is the manufacturers recommended cold tire pressure.
This is the pressure the system is programmed with. The programed trigger point cannot be changed.
Under 49 U.S.C. 30122(b), "A manufacturer, distributor, dealer, or motor vehicle repair business may not knowingly make inoperative any part of a device or element of design installed on or in a motor vehicle or motor vehicle equipment in compliance with an applicable motor vehicle safety standard prescribed under this chapter [49 USC �� 30101 et seq. ] unless the manufacturer, distributor, dealer, or repair business reasonably believes the vehicle or equipment will not be used (except for testing or a similar purpose during maintenance or repair) when the device or element is inoperative."

Ok so this is probably a really dumb question. Is it possible to enter the same tpms sensor ID for all fields in the ecu? That way 1 will supply the data for all 4.

when u hold the tpms switch down the tire light will flash 3 times. Doing this will set the tire pressure threshold to 20% less than whats in the tires now. so if u put 30 psi into the tires the tire pressure threshold will be 20% below 30 psi. around 25psi is when the tire light will turn on. i see alot more tire lights come into the shop when the weather gets cold because they forget to bump up the tire pressure in the full size spare.
