Sort of like the low fuel gauge latches on once detected, as it never toggles on/off it just latches on until refilled.
If I remember right, if you loosen up the front driver's side wheel liner enough to gain access behind it, you should be able to access it. Going straight off of my memory though...could be wrong. Otherwise, you'll need to remove the engine under panel and gain access from underneath the front end.
If I read this thread right, there is no float just some exposed conductors sending current through the fluid. If coolant is low, no current flows and light is triggered. That said OP is looking for a bad connection. When you find the connector; jumper a 1M ohm resistor across it. If the light remains on, the problem is upstream somewhere.
FWIW - that same tank prevents one from installing LED bulbs in the 2011 up cars as its smack dab in the way.
