lex toy certified mechanic. he uses amsoil xl synth. oil & it only needs to be replaced every 10K miles. I'm went for it, saves time and money. he charges $70.00 for oil & filter change.

just so you know, by 10k your oil filter will be beyond clogged and running on bypass. replace the filter every 5k and top off oil. by 4,000 miles you will feel the car runs a bit sluggish and less smooth than when u first replaced the oil. once you replace the filter, it will run smooth. that's what ive noticed.

I'm using Pennzoil full synthetic natural gas oil. I'm running 10k OCI, but replacing the filter at 5k miles. I wouldn't recommend running a filter longer than that since it isn't designed for it. Cheap insurance.

2011+ have 10,000 oil changes from the factory.. Running 0W-20. Actually a lot of new cars are running the same oil and OICs.

thanks man, according to the mechanic, he uses lexus filters and they are good for 10K. I especifically asked him. i hope he isn't lying to me.

There are at least two oil filters on the market for the ES350 that guarantee protection up to 15K miles with the use of synthetic oil: Fram Ultra (XG9972) and Mobil 1 EP (MIC-251). That wouldn't be recommended within the warranty period but it just goes to show the progress of filtering materials. I'm giving the Fram filter a try but I'll be changing it at 10K on our 07. It is made in the US and looks very well made.

Perhaps this is true only for IS250?

My 2012 IS350 still lists 5W-30 and 5k intervals.

The 350 switched to 0w20/10,000mi in 2014. Uses same filter. Not sure if that means the filter is good for 10000mi with 5w30 though

don't need to get all fancy with amsoil. I ran m1 0w-20 for about 11 or 12k in a 6month period. Blackstone lab said oil still has life.
