So my airbag light was on since i got the car, the dealer has already dropped 2500 to replace the
air bag harness. After having to complete remove the dash and installing the harness now they are saying that the passenger side airbag ecu needs to replace which is another 900. The said it was code B1797 and that it has only popped up 3 times in lexus history database. Is this true? I'm wondering why my car is having such airbag issues, the said the harness masked the code to the passenger side seat. I'm wondering if they are trying to rip the other dealer off i bought it from or really having that issue with the car. I think it's rediculous to spend 3400.00 on a freaking airbag system. What are your guys thoughts? Once they fix the airbag ecu will i have more problems or will it resolve it?

 

Tell them to do the zero point calibration. You don't need and ecu. Also find a new dealer.

 

Do you live or park in an area where rodents can get into the engine bay to chew on wiring?
