I'm Now Sold on the Lexus Brand. :)
About 3 months ago, I purchased an as-is 2007 IS250 with 93,000 miles from Lexus of Beverly Hills. This was my first financed car, and it was the best I could afford. You can imagine how excited I was coming from ricer Honda's and Miata's.
Fast forward to about 2 weeks ago, I got the famous "Check VSC" and all that jazz. Ran the code and got a transmission error; performance "d" stuck, something of that sort. My dad has his own shop and has been a mechanic for 20+ years, so he was just going to find the bad solenoid and replace it. The solenoid itself was north of $150, so we just decided on bringing it in to Lexus to see what they can do. We also decided to check the service history on myLexus.com, and found out that Beverly Hills Lexus new about the bad tranny, but decided to sell it to me regardless.
Long story short, I have been driving a '14 IS250 loaner, and Lexus is only making me pay $517 for a complete re-manufactured Lexus transmission, even though I bought the car as-is.
Need-less-to-say, I'm a very happy customer, and I will be with the Lexus brand for a very long time!

Thats pretty cool... there are def some great Lexus dealerships out there. Even though I have two closer to my work I prefer to go to one a little further because of how well they treat me and my family. Lexus fan for life!
I would have asked for a free replacement since they knew before hand... but on the other hand any used car lot would just turn their back.
