Covert from Factory HID to aftermarket??
Hello,
Has anyone done a thread on a 06-10 IS 250/350 conversion from Factory HID to aftermarket?
HIDs keep turning off, I was thinking on going aftermarket., but have no idea how to wire them.
Any ideas will be helpful?
Thanks in advance.

u can do it but kinda a pain to do it. first u have to remove the bumper and remove the headlight because the ballast is at the bottom of the headlight. after u removed the headlight theres few bolt holding on the ballast to the headlight unbolt those and u will see 2 wire going from the headlight to the ballast and u can just redo the wire to a different connector to ur aftermarket hid kit and it should work BUT heres the problem the headlight is a completely sealed unit so if u remove the ballast and go with aftermarket im 100% sure water will gets in so unless u leave the ballast on and drill another holes next to it and seal it after u feed the wire. the thing is why would u do it? oem ballast is better than aftermarket at least theres no flake and oem ballast usually last for a long time. have u test the bulb by switching side? my advise is get some quality bulb like Philips or garax bulb if ur on budget. check the bulb first switch the bulb to different side and see. if is the ballast just check ebay and u can find a ballast as cheap as $50 and just replace it

This is the whole idea about this...
I want to get me a set of these:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/131477744249?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
The thing is that these are made for Halogen Models only. They come with an H7 bulb socket for the low beam light, and I am not sure about the type of bulbs the high beams yet but the point is...
I want to get these headlights and then get me a set of H7 Aftermarket HID kit. Bypass the OEM one and bam!
Do you guys think this is possible. I mean as long as I get 12 volts to the new aftermarket kit, remove the old headlights along with Ballast and bulbs, this should work, right?

The wiring on the car is basically the same (minus the AFS/Bi-Xenon trigger wires), so yes, you can just swap those lights in and then use an aftermarket HID kit. At that point the fact your car had factory HID won't actually matter or change anything. You will want to unplug the AFS computer to disable AFS on your car.
You should be fine.
Good luck!

And the connector on the light harness should just plug right in correct. Or u think some modification will be required?
