Wife drove over a small pothole and the damage was $10,153. Lexus IS 250 please look

I checked my '10 350 last night. I don't have a roof dent, but the front corners of my hood are slightly lower than the front of the fenders. With that said, the rest of the hood is perfectly level with the fenders.
With the location of the strut towers, I would think the misalignment would be present further up the hood/fender. I'm not doubting the OP or others like GVille, but people shouldn't be so quick to accept that they have frame damage just b/c their hood is misaligned.

All I'm saying is to not jump to an immediate conclusion just b/c you read something on the internet. If you're concerned....have your car inspected by a specialist.

Agreed. As someone who has probably replaced more tires for pothole induced sidewall bubbles than worn out tread, but has no roof dents and and a perfectly aligned hood, the assertion that every 2nd gen IS is subject to major structural chassis damage just by driving on a bumpy gravel road or hitting a small pothole seems a bit far fetched.

I've hit plenty of bad pot holes, and not had any issues yet. Sorry you did, but its still no reason to jump to accusations and threaten every IS owner on this forum. Not very nice.
You all might want to dump your 2is's off now, because I'm spamming Craigslist's across the country letting everyone know of this structural defect so your alls cars aren't going to be worth even $10k at this point, especially if a $10k dent repair essentially "totals" them.
That way you all can't try to dump your problem off on someone else without them knowing beforehand, and not overpaying for your compromised vehicles. Most people wouldn't even notice it from the naked eye and you might've been able to pass the issue off on them as a golf ball landed on it and got close to full asking price for it. But not on my watch you're not. Not if I got something to say about it.
I'm not going to stand by and sit idle to hear a report of someone rolling their used 2is and having their roof cave completely in on them because a small dent caused a weak point in the entire roof structure causing it to fail and collapse crushing everyone inside.
No offense but your cars are worth their weight in scrap metal at this point, and expect $5-10k in value decrease thanks to this newfound knowledge. Nothing but salvage titles at this point as far as I'm concerned, they all have frame damage.

How am I threatening every is owner? I'm just letting people know I'm letting the cat out the bag, pulling the rabbit out the hat, pulling back the curtain and revealing the wizard behind this circus show.
You think I can legitimately sleep at night knowing these people are going to take full advantage of the next generation of future is owners because they blatantly want to hold back this information for no reason other than selfish personal financial gain? That is shady business practice if you ask me, yet you're trying to flip the script and make me out to be the bad guy? Hell outa here. As far as I'm concerned I'm the Robin Hood of this epidemic.
So in reality it's you who is taking advantage of fellow is'ers, as the people you're selling them to once you hand over the keys, are apart of our family. So no, what you all may do as a result of this newfound information isn't and won't be very nice.

Well it sounds like you are threatening everyone by saying you will reduce the value of their cars to scrap metal. you make it seem like everyone here knows about this issue and is just trying to pass the buck when that is not the case. if you really can't sleep at night you should be concentrating on getting Lexus to fix the issue not trying to screw over current owners.

I recall someone, maybe GVille, saying that his alignment and suspension were still spot on. There are a lot of different factors that can lead to premature inner tire wear...driving style, brand/model of tire, misalignment (TOE), etc. Our cars are just prone to this. My stock bridgestone tires were replaced at 45k miles only b/c the PO had a set of winter wheels/tires that he used. Other's blow through tires every 15k, others 10k.
All I'm saying is to not jump to an immediate conclusion just b/c you read something on the internet. If you're concerned....have your car inspected by a specialist.

Since the towers flex, the camber would be dynamic depending upon the road forces, not when you have it standing on the alignment station.

Let not encourage him on this he has the rite to speak him mind. Weather we listen or not it doesn't matter. He also stated that these car weren't build in Japan when they clearly are. But enough of the my off topics.

LOL Good catch. He sure is. And after everyone explained to him they were exactly the same, how and why, citing OEM specification data, he responded…
LOL!! What a jackwagon...

Relax, it is his fantasy. His results will be similar to what he has seen here. LOL Read more about him and you'll understand that with today's modem pharmacology, he need not suffer like this.
