Default Crank position sensor questions

Car 2006 IS250 Started the car check engine light, traction control light and 'Check VSC' in the display. Pulled the code and it is P0335 Crank position Sensor A.

1. Is it safe to drive this car?
2. I'm guessing this is not easy to replace. Where is it located? How much should this job cost?
3. Could this in anyway be related to that stupid 'cam noise problem' that this car has?

Others have reported that this code happened due to a weak battery. You may want to have it tested.

Also, when you say "Could this in anyway be related to that stupid 'cam noise problem' that this car has?", are you not aware of the recall to fix this problem?

I am aware of a recall for the IS350 not one for the IS250. You will make my year if you can confirm that is true.

Apologies, didn't notice that you said IS250.

Took the car to Autozone to get the battery and alternator checked. Battery was good but the guy said the alt was charging between 13.4 and 13.5 which is borderline. Is that true? Also, where is the crank position sensor located?

^That's my question? If accessible, I'd spray some electrical cleaner on it. Had to do this on my Mitsu once for the same CEL; cleared it up immediately.

When my alternator failed the power steering went out first and then the Nav screen started turning off and it displayed the L logo when I turned it back on (which normally only happens right when you start the car) so I don't think your alt is the cause.
