Default Did u guys change the spark plugs at 60k miles or 100k miles

Browsed around the forum it seems to be mixed answers as some had iridium spark plugs but shouldn't we all have the same from factory?

Car is 2006 IS350 is at 123k km. VSC lights been coming on and off only on start up for like 2 minutes then its gone. This only happends once every 10 - 14 days. Sometimes it will be on for a day, but turns out it was a nail in tire. Car has been feeling a bit slower that when I had it at 110k km or I got use to it.

What are your thoughts? Where can I purchase the spark plugs now that sewell lexus is gone I plan to just bring the sparks into a reputable lexus/toyota shop if I do need to change them.

You can still order from Sewell. Just have to call. Not sure if they still do CL discount but u can ask. Or you could try mylparts. There's a 10% discount code CL5 I think it is. I did mine at 60k miles per manual. However the plugs themselves are rated for 100k miles. I'd say your due.

^lol beat me to it

60k miles for U.S. spec, consult your manual. I believe you can still call Sewell via phone and place an order, otherwise MyLParts provides club Lexus a 10% discount using CL5 promo code.

The install isnt difficult for a 350.

Mine is canadian spec, also where do we get the bolt to take out the spark plug? Is it the same as the wheel lug key.

I did my first spark change just under 100k during a recall so I only paid for parts and not labor. Right now my car is over 180k; since it's older possible time to change soon as dealer advised around 60k is the number. How much are your dealer charging you guys for spark change on IS350?

I can do my own oil change but not skillful enough to work on the complicated looking IS engine. Maybe that's why it's running 185k strong!

Obviously I didn't do my spark replace at recommended 60k. Now that i'm 20k overdue what type of sign should I anticipate? Planning my budget to replace in about 2 months.

Wow you really like living on the edge don't you? One of the reasons why spark plugs have a replacement schedule is that so pieces don't start breaking off with age and mangle the cylinder/piston/valves.
