Default Buying a new car

Hi all, I'm new to this forum so please be gentle .

I am looking to buy a 2007 IS350 or 2007 G35 Sedan.

I know that there are other posts about this but I just wanted to create one because some of them don't address my questions. I also know that I am going to get biased answers here but I would like to get some advice. It would be great to get advice from people who have driven both cars before or have had experience with both.

Here is my situation:
1) I would like to get a car with decent gas mileage: Both cars have 3.5 liter V6s but on the cars.com website it shows that the IS350 gets better mileage, is that actually true/attainable in typical driving situations or is it just one of those "technically you can do it" type things? Assuming 50/50 hw/city driving

2) Great reliability: Both Lexus and Infiniti are Japanese cars so do you think they are equal here?

3) Sporty driving: I won't be racing the car but I would like to do some sporty driving here and there... I hear that the paddle shifters on the ISs are do not really shift the gears and are really gear limiters is that really true? Does it make the paddle shifters somewhat useless?

4) Somewhat future proof: Which one is more futureproof?

5) I am a noob when it comes to the engine so which car has more torque? I am a big fan of staying in the lower RPM ranges while driving and don't want to rev up my car all that often.

Is there anything that I need to worry about when buying a new IS350? Anything parts of the car that I need to look at more specifically because they are more prone to breaking/wear and tear?

Also, based on my situation, are there any other cars that I should look at?

Go with the IS350.

Here's a review of the IS350 and g35. This should help your buying decision.

From a IS350 owner the car is more then I can ask for. SLEEPER fast, great luxury, doesn't look dated, reliable, great handling list goes on and on. Just makes sure you buy one that's been taking care of.

1) 50/50 you would get around 17/18 mpg with the IS350. If you fo 70/30 you will get like 23/24 mpg.
2) Lexus > Infiniti
3) I drive a S2000 in addition to a IS350. The IS350 is alot more sport than a camry, but far off from a sports car. The paddle shifters are completely useless.
4) Features in both cars are already standard features in the bottom range cars. A rule of thumb is 10 years for luxury goodiees to twinkle down to the lower end cars. You might also want a car with better off center crash ratings if you have/plan to soon have kids, not to mention a more room backseats.

I'm bias, but I'd still say the IS350...thus the reason I chose mine initially over all other competitors.

Now the real question, have you found one in your area F/S and have to test driven both vehicles?
