Default 90,000 miles service but new engine

Hey guys - I have a 2009 IS 350. few years ago, my engine broke, literally. The service guys at my local dealer said the engine was under warranty and they took like 3 weeks in building a new engine.

With that said, my car's 90,000 mile mark is coming up and it seems like the service is going to cost me $1K+ if I go to the dealer.

1) Do you guys think I need the 90,000 service given my engine was replaced?

2) Do local mechanics knows how to do the 90K service or is dealer the only safe place?

Thanks

What was replaced when your engine was repaired? You will still need to do the 90K maintenance on all items that are not new/replaced. Look at what is needed in the 90K maintenance. If any items were recently replaced during the engine repair I would bypass those parts and labor cost since you have very few miles/wear on them.

It's easy to check to see what was done using Lexus drivers sight. Put in your VIN number and print it out to compare to what the 90K miles service bulletin item have listed.

I thought the 90k mile service was just oil coolant, and check fluids and filters? I know spark plugs aren't until 120k. I be noticed that especially at the dealer if you pay for individual services its significantly cheaper than the mileage interval services, at least that has been my experience.

I think the 90k also includes a brake fluid change.
