Air Conditioning not cold enough
Hey guys so I've had my 2011 IS250 since January. Everything is good however I've noticed being it summer time that the car doesn't get very cold compared to other cars I've owned/driven.
Before in my 2012 Civic Si coupe I could set it to cold and it would get cold fast. so much so that I had to turn down the fan in like 5 mins after turning it on. My friend's mercedes seems to get colder quicker also.
My IS is charcoal with black leather interior. However, it mostly sits in garage. Has anybody noticed that the AC isn't that good compared to other vehicles they've owned/driven?
Kind of a bummer since I do live in Phoenix where today it was 117 lol. But even still again in other vehicles recently I've been in they get colder/faster with similiar conditions as my IS.
FYI: I took it to Lexus and they said it was working fine.
thanks guys

Sorry dude. On these very hot days the IS A/C is not up to par with other cars.
Best thing you can do is roll all the windows down for a minute or so so the hot air escapes.
Turn the A/C on LO, with just the face vents on, and turn your seat ventilators on.

We just had a similar thread last month. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...s-your-ac.html
I'm not sure why 355F1 doesn't have his A/C serviced, as it clearly isn't working right. I've had my car in 106+ degree temps in both NJ and SC - not as hot as you get in the southwest, but with lots of humidity here, which puts a huge latent heat load on the A/C, and even in those temps the car was icy cold.

I'm also in Phx, my car sits out in the sun but with a sunshade, I have the a/c on high for about 2 miles before I need to turn it down. Mine is very cold, its an 09.

Every time I rent a car when I travel I notice how much colder the A/C is in every car from a Camry to a Charger.

For those who don't want to read the other thread, let me end with this photo that I posted there, taken by Xanadu350, who lives in Florida. As you can see, the ambient temperature at the time was 93 degrees, but the A/C discharge temperature reads 30 degrees. That's as good as A/C gets -- any colder and the condensate on the evaporator coil would ice up and block the airflow.

I'm not sure what everyone's performance is, but I leave the AC on auto at 72. In the past few days, after the car sit in the sun in uncovered parking, it takes about 5 minutes to get not hot inside, and about 7 minutes for the AC to stop blowing at max. If I have the air blow directly at my neck, it's uncomfortably cold.
