So, I took the plunge and purchased the unit for $250 bucks. I read some good reviews and thought I was getting a good unit. For some reason, I have to turn the volume up so loud on my radio to hear the music playing from my iPod. I spoke with Vaistech and they said, nothing they could do. That is how the unit works. Has anyone else has this same issue with adding iPod controllers? I also should mention, I have the ML system with Navi. I don't even think it sounds any better than having the aux cord plugged into the iPod directly.
Thanks,
Seth

I don't have a Vaistech but i have a GROM (bluetooth) unit which i believe works in a similar way. I have the same issue occasionally when connecting via bluetooth and i found that if i switch sources, for example to FM Radio, and then back to AUX/Disc the volume issue will then be resolved.
It might not work for you but worth a try.

I have an older generation Vaistech that I used for a long time on my IS300. Installed the same adapter to my 07 IS250 when I got her, and it works just fine. A little slow to switch tracks, but nothing crazy. Audio much better then using aux. Maybe the module is defective? Non ML, no navi.
