Default Updated Solved: 2007 IS 250 Won't Start.

SOLVED see below.

Hi guys ...

A couple times last week, first thing in the morning, when pressing my brake pedal my start button would not turn green hence i could not start the car. After locking and unlocking the doors a few times with the remote, which works fine, and fiddling around the car started. I drove to work, drove back home the issue seemed to be gone. Then a few days later same thing. Fiddle Fiddle and then it worked. I did notice once while driving that my security light started flashing while i was driving. Not sure if its related but something tells me it is. This Monday morning after not using the car all weekend the car wont start at all. Tried to fiddle with no luck. I tried both my keys ... I tried unplugging the battery, i tried holding the key up to the start button with the L logo touching .... all unsuccessful. My lights work ... the sideview mirrors lights come on when im close by ... my brake lights work fine. I can not turn on the radio or cycle through the ignition modes at all. I tried jumping the car but that doesnt work either. I found some threads about checking some fuses and all my fuses seem fine and don't test open. I've read it could be a bad ground ... Where could i begin testing for that? I also found a service bulletin about replacing the start button.

I think this is my only option at this point. Any insight would really be appreciated.

Update: So after building a techstream system and pulling the trouble codes I followed the troubleshooting instructions provided by alldatadiy.com (found a promo code 10$ for 2 years) on testing for the code and it concluded that I should swap out the Power Source ECU. Found one on eBay for 14.99$ swapped it last night and now my car starts. Thanks to all that helped. Saved thousands as the part alone is 800usd.

Hmm... weird. You have already tried everything I was going to suggest. Hopefully someone else has some useful info.

Battery is original but wouldn't trying to jump it omit that as the issue. Regardless I picked up a new one and will try to swap it shortly.

Checked all the fuses for continuity and all are fine ...I checked both fuse boxes under the hood and both on the inside. How would I go about checking a chassis ground? Is there a service bulletin doc around for this anywhere? Thanks for all the replies.

should be from the fuse block to the chassis so inspect the cable.

grounds all seem to be fine. re-check all fuses ...

Could the fact that I saw the security light flashing a few days before this issue started have anything to do with the root cause i'm looking for?

thanks again

An update: I changed the start button ... that didn't help. I bought a techstream cable on amazon and was able to pull some trouble codes.

Trouble Codes:

B2287
B2289

and found this in relation
http://goo.gl/MJR307

Can some help me located the ECUs in question?

Power source control ECU
Transponder key ECU

Thanks

So the key fob transmitter ecu went bad and that's what you had replaced? First I've read about one of those going out.
