Commute IS250 vs. IS350

Two other factors to really pay attention to towards the end of your 2yr run:
80k in 2 years will scare most people away on a 3rd or 4th owner purchase. Resale may be harder... and even harder than that if there is a loan out on it.
Will your commute possibly change in 2 years? Job relocation or even a different job all together...
I've sold a couple high mileage cars private party and it's a waiting game or you sell low to just move on. Once you get past 150k miles the sale approach has to change and you gotta be detailed in delivering vehicle history and documents... most of us on CL can search each other's builds, issues, hiccups, and mistakes on here .... but the average buyers will want some history before buying into a higher mileage multi owned car more so than one with 70k on it. Not saying you can't provide that... just something to remember. I keep folders for each car with every receipt and details of mods by date and a list of preventative updates. It helps ^_^ I'm at 179,999 on my 07 IS350... no issues at all. I like a lot of different cars for different reasons so that's the only issue that makes me want to jump ship at times. Can't seem to stay in the same car for more than 2 years lol.

A prius goes against everything I've ever appreciated about the automobile world. If I wanted the 40+mpg I'd get a vw diesel. I had seriously thought about a sport touring motorcycle for about 4 months but the family doesn't like the idea. I'm basically looking for something that gets 25-35mpg freeway that can still put a smile on my face. I was thinking about going back to a wrx but I wanted something more refined and family friendly.
One the pruis isnt that bad. Hybrid arent that bad. I love performance cars and I can appreciate a Pruis at the same time.. whats wrong with people? Its not that serious the Pruis didnt eat your kids are take money out your bank account its not that serious.... plus now theres tons of fast hyrbids on the market go figure.
You rather buy a VW diesel? your insane good luck on maintenance and reliability
Any who if you dont care about speed get the 250.. please of the additive power in the 350 I have got two speeding tickets because of its 3.5 liter engine lol

And since you're concerned about depreciation, this is a low-production car that will likely follow along the lines of the G8 GT and GXP, which are both still holding their values extremely well.

The is350 is more reliable and a ton of more fun than is250. Honestly if you do get a 250 I kinda doubt youll really enjoy it all that much, at least from a performance persepctive. I get the to drive my Sister in Laws 2006 Is250 every now and then and eveytime I drive, I grow a bigger appreciation for how much better my car feels compared to hers. (No offense Is250 owners)
And when she drives mine, she always comments on how my car feels like it so easy to go fast in by comparison. And how she doesnt realize how little throttle input the car needs to speed up
In other words, Get the IS350. Its either that or an ISF lol.

Chevy SS. While it may not be a Lexus, it's still built by the Australians who know how to actually build a car and it's quite quick both in terms of acceleration and cornering. In fact, it will out brake and out-accelerate an IS350 and is so close in terms of lateral grip that you wouldn't be able to tell. It'll also get around 26-28, even 30mpg highway if you're not going crazy.

Also, the price tag is still really high as they are limited production. For the money I would much rather get a GXP. It performs just as well and it looks 10x bettter IMO
