Car won't start seems like it's system is locked
Have trouble starting my Lexus 250 IS. Battery is new(4 months old) All started after a friend asked if I had remote start. I said I wasn't for sure. We goggled it and tried the key less start method of clicking lock button twice then holding down lock button to start the car on the key fob. Not for sure if this has anything to do with why it will not start. Everything in car works, lights, windows, radio, etc. Start button is Red until I press on break then it turns green. After I push the start button car sounds like it wants to start, however it's followed by a long rapid clicking. I hear the fuel system engaging also. Lights displayed are Check Engine, Battery, and Power Steering system. I have disconnected the battery cables and reconnected them with no change, even tried unlocking and locking the car several times with key on door. As well as trying to start the car with key fob pushed against start button. All failed attempts Any ideas?

have you tried this?

"Press down both brake and throttle as far as both will go, then press the start button/turn the key" This forces air through to "unflood" the system. After a couple of seconds, the engine will turn over"

Just tried didn't work however the car sounds better. Also tried jiggling and turning the steering wheel before starting and during startup with no luck.

You may want to ask this question by starting a new thread in the applicable RX forum. If the key won't turn, it is probably related to the steering lock, an anti-theft feature that stops the steering wheel from moving when the key is in the off position. Sometimes you can free things up by turning the steering wheel. The 2nd generation IS does not have a mechanical key, so the steering lock on our cars is completely different.
