Hi Everyone,

On my way to school the other day I noticed smoke was coming from the hood of my car at a stop light. It smelt like something was burning. At first I thought it was that I needed more coolant because it was leaking. However, I checked and it was already full. I had a mechanic looked it over and he said nothing was leaking... Can anyone please tell me what is wrong with my car or has this happened to anyone before? My mechanic doesn't know what is causing it since nothing is leaking.

Did you have the oil changed or any engine work done lately? Might of spilled something and it's just burning off.

I once had a plastic bag that I ran over somehow get hung up on the exhaust system. It started to melt and smelled awful.

How is your alternator? Did you check it to see if it's the source of the smell/smoke? It may be in the process of expiring.

^Then my alternator went out it gave off a horrible electrical burning smell.
