Help me out please...already searched. Rumbling in reverse after lowering.
Hello, new to the forum here. Current owner of '15 Highlander, '96 NSX and newly acquired '11 IS250 AWD. I just lowered the IS the other day on BC Racing coilovers. Little bit of rust here and there made the installation a bit longer than expected. Anyway, so now when I put it in REVERSE, it kinda.....hums and rumbles like it REALLY wants to move, lol. More of an annoyance than anything but it didn't do it before. I thought it might be due to a cold start but its not.
Any ideas??
Thanks.

I believe that is because you are AWD. I am not an expert on it, since I don't have an AWD. But it seems like some people run into issues when they lower their AWD cars.
I am sure someone will chime in with more info, or you have an idea of what to search for now.

Wow, definitely was not aware of all those issues. That's all wobbling and shaking driving in D, not R. I don't even recall any of those issues but I should check the angle of my axles just for reference. But yeah, this is foot on brake and in R. It all makes sense tho. Thanks!

Some folks luck out and slam their AWD models without issue; but the bulk of owners that do lower their AWD models DO end up having need noises, vibrations, etc all over the place due the change in suspension geometry. Plus some have had to go as far as replacing their axles due to CV joints issues due the lowered suspension.

It was about 24" from the fender to the ground. I raised it up to 25 1/4 though and it DID improve. The rumble in reverse is also in drive at a stop so I guess its just the way the transmission works, Ive gotten used to it. The wobble is minimal now and Im getting used to it.

So far its not too bad.

Seems a few members use something like these to help with such issues. Please research to see if these are for use on the AWD model because the link doesn't say :
