Default Time for new tires..Question about front size

It's time for new tires!

I've been really lucky, I was able to get 42,000 out of my Bridgestone Potenza RE760's. bought the car CPO in October 2013 with the tires brand new.

Car: 2011 IS250 f-sport, factory rims, lowered on H&R springs and factory shocks (installed about 8k ago). Truthfully, the ride is pretty harsh. if the road isn't 100% smooth, it bounces like hell, and i feel EVERYTHING. It's a little embarrassing when I have people inside and everyone is bouncing around....a Lexus shouldn't be like that IMO.

My Question: Can I fit a 225/45r18 up front? I've read about 5 different threads where some people say yes, some people say no. Figured I'd ask again.

The tires I'm looking to get: BF Goodrich G-Force Comp 2 A/S. I think an all-season tire will be a little softer, and with the taller sidewall (hopefully) will help with the harshness. I'm content with sacrificing performance if the ride gets better.

So what do you guys think?

With the 235/40/18s on those H&Rs, you might have rubbing on aggressive cornering or U-turns. Instead I'd recommend 225/40/18 or 235/35/18.

To fix the root of the issue, you'll need to look at a different suspension pkg. Those H&R springs on stock shocks will net you the results you'll be experiencing. Time to look at aftermarket shocks (Koni) OR a true coilover setup.

Good choice on those BFGs. I rock the BFG KDW IIs.

I would stick to stock tire size but go with the newer Pirelli p zero all season. theyre the best with ride comfort but still have really exceptional cornering/braking even in the wet. look them up on tire rack..

Previous posters have tried the 235s on the front. most brands work, some brands rub. Pretty much trial and error.

I had 235/40s continental DWS up front on stock wheels and there was a very minor rub on full lock. Now I'm running 18x8.5 +50 up front on the same 235s and there's no rubbing at all..

Thanks everyone.

I'm going to stick with factory size on the front. As far as suspension goes, I think I'm just going to buy new shocks (non-sport suspension- just OEM replacement) and put my factory springs back on.

Do you guys see any issues with factory f-sport suspension springs paired with a shock for a normal IS 250?

I'll probably put the H&R springs up for sale shortly. They only have about 8k miles on them.

Well, I bought new tires. I stayed with factory sizes.

The tires helped a little with the overall feel, but the car still bounces a lot and rides like ****. I think I'm going to put it up for sale and look for a new ride instead of throwing money at a problem I'm not sure I'll fix.

Thank you everyone who helped/gave input, I really appreciate it!

I found the 18s a little harsh on my 250 so I bought a set of factory 17s and put 235/45R17 Continental DWS all round. Really smoothed out the ride.
